‘Brotherhood’ Star’s Face Broken in Brutal Beatdown

Here is an article from TMZ.com about Lou’s unfortunate event that occured on July 3rd in Belmar, New Jersey. If you want you can react on Twitter. I choose not to publish more as I think we should respect his privacy, especially during such a time. And I wish him to heal well and get better as soon as possible!

“You may not recognize actor Lou Taylor Pucci now — but you’ll definitely remember his face after this … because TMZ has obtained a photo of Pucci after he was knocked out cold last weekend … and broke five bones his face.

Pucci’s father tells TMZ the actor — who’s had roles in movies like “Fast Food Nation,” “Fanboys” and “Brotherhood” — was the victim of a random act of violence on July 3 outside of his friend’s house in Belmar, NJ.

We’re told four unknown men were walking past Pucci when one of them suddenly attacked him — knocking him out cold and breaking five bones in his face.

We’re told the mystery assailant took off on foot and was never captured — and Pucci has since had a titanium plate put in his face.”

Phase 4 Acquires SXSW Audience-Award Winner Brotherhood in Cannes Market

Rising indie distributor Phase 4 Films, in Cannes for the second time, has scooped up North American rights from the Cannes Film Market to SXSW audience-award-winner Brotherhood. Berry Meyerowitz, president & CEO of the year-old distrib, plans a late 2010 release for rookie director Will Canon’s college fraternity hazing thriller starring Jon Foster, Trevor Morgan, Arlen Escarpeta, and Lou Taylor Pucci. The film is based on Canon’s NYU film school short Roslyn, which aired on HBO, Showtime and the Sundance Channel. Canon participated in the new Directors Lab at Fox Searchlight.

Toronto-based Meyerowitz and his LA-based acquisitions chief Larry Greenberg are combing Cannes for “commercial films with a targeted audience,” says Meyerowitz, who thinks a niche sell is one way to break through market clutter. “Or you need an edge from an actor or director.” Phase 4 considers itself to be in competition with Sony Pictures Classics, Magnolia and Screen Media, among others, and is willing to invest in fully-packaged films under $7 million at the pre-production stage. The company, which has a staff of 65, is slowly ramping up from four to six releases in 2010 to eight to twelve in 2011.

Phase 4 (which absorbed Peace Arch and Content Films and boasts a 1000-title library) released in its first year IRA drama 50 Dead Man Walking, starring Ben Kingsley and Jim Sturgess, and the DVD release of the Matt Tyrnauer doc Valentino: The Last Emperor. Coming up next on July 30 is Brigitte Berman’s doc Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel. The company acquired its first festival acquisition at Sundance 2010: writer-director Katie Aselton’s relationship comedy The Freebie, starring Aselton and Dax Shepherd. Also coming in 2010 is the romantic comedy Finding Bliss, starring Leelee Sobieski, and the actioner Dead Man Running starring Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

Brotherhood was produced by Chris Pollack, Steven Hein, Tom O’Hair, and Jason Croft, and was executive produced by Jamie Patricof, Kevin Iwashina, Darryn Welch and Chris Ouwinga. Cinema Management Group is selling foreign rights in Cannes. Phase 4’s Meyerowitz and acquisitions chief Larry Greenberg negotiated the deal with IP Advisers’ Iwashina, attorney Darin Frank and Nate Bolotin of XYZ Films, which helped to finance the film.

YouTube Channel “LTP Source”

As I deleted the media part of the site, I thought it should be great to create a YouTube Channel to upload the videos, you can now find it under the username ‘ltpsource’ on YouTube.

Moreover I have added a few videos including a movie clip from The Informers, a video from the premiere of The Informers, a video from the premiere of The Answer Man, the trailer for The Answer Man, the trailer for Brief Interviews With Hideous Men and the interview of the cast of Brotherhood by Gordon and The Whale that I talked to you about in the previous update.

I also found a Broadway archive video of The Sound Of Music starring young Lou Taylor Pucci and Andrea Bowen from Desperate Housewives. I’ll add new videos tomorrow as I don’t want to upload everything at once. And here is the official trailer for Brotherhood:

DALLAS IFF 2010 Video Interview: Actors Lou Taylor Pucci, Trevor Morgan, Jon Foster (BROTHERHOOD)

I just found this great interview, please go to GordonAndTheWhale.com to watch the video, it’s really good!

BROTHERHOOD is a film that swept not only my heart (as I pronounced in our SXSW Podcast), but also swept the Audience Award for a Narrative film at both SXSW and Dallas IFF. In the film, fraternity brothers must work together to get through one of the hardest and most trying events they’ve ever dealt with– a shot friend. But can they keep the brotherly love while trying to escape the consequences of their actions?

One of the biggest factors for BROTHERHOOD is its cast, who really take the film to the next level by providing astounding performances. Their chemistry in the film is only overshadowed by their real life chemistry, which was very apparent while I interviewed the three main stars Lou Taylor Pucci, Trevor Morgan and Jon Foster. As it turns out that all three of them happen to have been very close friends before shooting began. You can check out their chemistry yourself, after the break.

Update #01

Please read the message below the update, it’s really important… I have finally updated the site with actually less content than it used to. For example I deleted all the media part, including videos and various goodies. I won’t be updating the site often (that won’t really change from now actually). I lost interest in maintaining websites a really long time ago as you notticed. Of course I haven’t lost interest in Lou’s career though, I think he is probably one of the most talented actors of his generation and I really admire his work. I just don’t feel the need and especially the urge to maintain a website about him, that hasn’t been a hobby of mine for a long time… This was something I liked a few years ago but now it’s really became something I find extremely boring to do! Especially when you have so much else to do… I’m keeping the site online only because people asked me to through Twitter… Feel free to respond to that =”message, and if anybody wants to help taking care of the site instead of me, please contact me.

You can now find movie clips on the websites of Brotherhood and The Legend Of Hell’s Gate.

I have added a few pictures from the movie Brotherhood, but also from two events, SXSW and DIFF 2010.
